
Coby Alhadeff gets set to serve for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas boys tennis team. {Lori Alhadeff}
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas boys and girls tennis team was in action against rival Coral Springs High School in their final home match of the season.
The boys team came to the match 3-2 with wins over Pompano Beach Cardinal Gibbons and Charles W. Flanagan but lost to Cypress Bay and St. Thomas Aquinas High School. The Eagles went on to win all their matches against the Colts and then dominated again with a victory over Nova High School. Dennis Oliveira Jr. leads the team at number one singles, while Daniel Platovsky, Herman Stelling, Coby Alhadeff, and Jared Russinoff have all won multiple matches. Ryan Tomek and Jeremy Winnick have also shined while playing doubles.
The girls team also beat Coral Springs High School and Nova High School. They are 9-1 this year, with their only loss against St. Thomas Aquinas High School. They are led by Savita Vagirathan, while Allison Kehler, Eesha Kondlapudi, and Dhea Bagirathan all have combined shined. Angela Rincones, Kehler, Kondlapudi, Bagirathan, and Claire Schwartz have dominated in doubles.
MSD is set to resume their season on April 2 at 4 p.m.
