Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through May 29, 2023.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 62nd Terrace was reported on: 05/24/2023. The total estimated loss was: $247. The victim(s) reported their 2015 Isuzu landscape work truck was burglarized. Unknown suspect(s) entered the unlocked front passenger door and removed two backpacks containing a passport, cell phone, and $27.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 75 Way was reported on: 05/24/2023. The total estimated loss was: $620. The vehicle was left unlocked as the victim was working. He returned to the vehicle and saw a black vehicle parked next to the work van. He approached and noticed the front passenger door open. The vehicle drove off. Missing was a backpack containing $600.
Theft From Building
A victim of Theft From a Building on Vista Way was reported on: 05/25/2023. The total estimated loss was: $10,400. The victim held an open house, then later discovered a watch like hers was for sale on the Facebook marketplace, then realized the watch was missing. Her Rolex, valued at $10,400, was taken from her bedroom.
Theft – All Other
A victim of Theft – All Other on Waterside Court was reported on: 05/25/2023. The total estimated loss was: $50. The caller advised a prescription for hormone replacement was taken from her mailbox on May 19. The caller contacted the USPS, who stated that the delivery was made earlier that day.
Fraud – All Other
A victim of Fraud – All Other on N State Road 7 was reported on: 05/26/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,300. The victim advised that he purchased an Omega watch from Offer Up and made the transaction in person at Starbucks in Parkland Jurisdiction. After making the purchase, the victim found out that the watch was fake. The victim reached out to the seller for a refund, but the seller has not responded.
A victim of Fraud – All Other on NW 99 Avenue was reported on: 05/25/2023. The total estimated loss was: $3,921. The victim advised that she was supposed to receive a dividend check in the mail. USPS informed delivery shows that the check was supposed to have been delivered, but the victim advised that she never received it. The victim advised police that the check was cashed.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on University Drive was reported on: 05/26/2023. The total estimated loss was: $409. A shoplifter placed several bottles of wine into a bookbag and eventually exited without paying. The offender then entered the location again, attempting to steal more items, in which he was confronted by an employee and deputies.
Arrests
Sabir, Imran, Ghulam, 54, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence at NW 78 Drive on 05/23/2023.
Garcia, Jaime, Gilberto, 52, was arrested on a charge of Agg Assault W/ Deadly Weapon-Domestic Violence at NW 61 Court on 05/24/2023.
Sabir, Imran, Ghulam, 54, was arrested on a charge of Agg Assault W/ Intent Commit Felony – Domestic Violence at NW 78 Drive on 05/24/2023.
Bland, Erol, Garrett, 42, was arrested on a charge of Larceny – Grand Theft 750 Less Than 5k on University Drive on 05/26/2023.
