Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a list of crimes that occurred in Parkland from December 24 through January 1, 2019.
Auto Theft
10000 block of NW 60th Place – The Landings
Between December 24, at 9:30 p.m. and December 25, at 5:20 a.m., unknown suspect(s) unlawfully entered the victim`s driveway and stole his unlocked 2015 blue Infinity Q80. The keys were left inside the vehicle, which was recorded at 5:20 a.m., going through the toll plaza on the Sawgrass Expressway and the Turnpike (via Sunpass).
Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts
7500 block of NW 61st Terrace – Mill Run-Carriage Homes
sometime between 9:45 p.m. on December 30 and 7:30 a.m. on December 31, the unknown subject removed all four wheels/tires from a 2017 white Honda Accord which was parked in the parking lot adjacent to the victim’s residence.
Recovered Auto
10000 block of NW 70th Ct
On December 25, at 11:00 p.m., the driver of a 2008 Lexus, advised that he forgot that he parked his vehicle in Parkland and reported it stolen to Coral Springs Police. The vehicle was recovered. There were no victims listed.
7100 Hillsboro Blvd – Parkland Falls Nursery
On December 29, a 2017 an abandoned stolen Chevy Malibu was found at 7100 Hillsboro Blvd by the property owner.
Animal Bite
10000 block of Old Club Rd – Parkland Golf & Country Club
A male age 57 was walking near the basketball courts when a 17-year-old male with a 90 pound brown mastiff/hound dog was walking nearby. The dog bit the man on the right thigh and scratched his right calf. The owner called the dog back, began yelling at the victim, and left the scene in a golf cart.
Information
8200 block of NW 128th Lane – Heron Bay
On December 27, deputies responded to assist a parent with their 16-year-old child who unknowingly left the house overnight with the parent’s vehicle and cellular phone. The child was later located by the parent using an online cell phone tracking application, where the child was observed in Palm Beach County heading back home. The child later returned home safely.
Lost Property
8900 block of Edgewater Bend
On December 27 at approximately 11:21 a.m., a deputy responded to a home in reference to a lost wallet. Upon arrival, the victim said they lost their wallet, valued at approximately $600, on December 25 at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Suspicious Incident
6800 block of NW 70th Place
On December 27, a deputy was dispatched to the 6800 block of NW 70th Place in reference to a suspicious incident. Upon his arrival, he met with the resident who advised she was inside of her residence when she heard a loud bang at that door at approximately 10:20 p.m..When she checked outside, there was no one there.
Aggravated Assault
6300 block of NW 66th Way
On December 30, a female victim, 42, was awakened by the suspect when he placed his hands around her neck and began choking her. The victim lost consciousness and woke back up to the suspect punching and kicking her. The victim sustained bruising on her face, rib cage, back, legs and arms. The victim states that the suspect fled the residence when she dialed 911 from her cell phone. The victim hung up on the 911 operator, and when the 911 operator called back she told them that she dialed 911 by accident. The Broward Sheriff’s Office was not notified.
The next day, the victim was again awakened by the suspect when he placed his hands around her neck and began choking her. The victim lost consciousness and woke back up to the suspect punching and kicking her again. The victim stated that the subject then placed a black handgun in her mouth and stated “It’s going to be a murder suicide”. The victim broke away from the suspect and called 911. The suspect fled the residence prior to the deputy’s arrival. Thirty-three firearms were taken from the residence. Evidence Technicians responded to the District Office to transport all firearms.
On January 1, BSO arrested George Anaya, 41, on charges of battery and committing domestic battery by strangulation.
Battery
7200 block of NW 63rd Terrace
On December 31, Maxwell Mucci willfully and intentionally pushed his father, 59, at their home. On January 1, Maxwell Alexander Mucci, 24 was arrested on charges of touch or strike/battery/domestic violence at the above mentioned location.
Schools
Westglades Middle School – 11000 Holmberg Rd
On December 26, a man stated that his son was getting obscene texts from a boy during school hours.
