The family of a 14-year-old Parkland girl recovering from a stroke and two brain surgeries is holding a community fundraiser to help pay for her care.
The event for Juliet LaMadeleine will be held from noon to 9 p.m. at The Fish Joint, 5677 Coral Ridge Dr. in Coral Springs on Saturday, May 31. The event is open to all.
The teenager suffered a “rare and massive brain” stroke on April 12 and has since been “fighting with incredible strength,” her parents, Mark and Victoria LaMadeleine, said in their fundraiser invitation.
In a May 16 update on their GoFundMe campaign page, Victoria LaMadeleine said Juliet was “making small but meaningful strides in her recovery—and those strides are what carry us through the toughest days.”
“I truly believe in the power of energy and collective intention, and I know your love and support are helping her heal,” her mother wrote.
Thirty percent of all the May 31 proceeds at The Fish Joint will go directly to Juliet’s Recovery Fund, according to her family.
Raffles, custom buttons, and t-shirts will also be available for purchase at the restaurant.
“Mark and I would be so grateful to hug those who have supported us—whether silently, on the front lines, or simply by showing up with love,” Victoria LaMadeleine said. “You’ve touched our lives deeply. Let us thank you in person. Together, we can help Juliet heal—and remind her that she’s never alone.”
“We’re rallying to support her every step of the way.”
