This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through October 7, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Information
A victim of Information was reported on 10/02/2024. The victim wanted to report an incident of incomplete renovation work at his residence. The victim can no longer contact his contractor.
A victim of Information was reported on 10/02/2024. A male purchased a Lexus from Wires Only Inc., out of California. The vehicle was transported privately by a businessman with his own 18-wheeler. The private transporter never got paid for services rendered and was attempting to collect payment from the wrong party. The business owner was trespassed from the property and was advised to handle this matter in court.
A victim of Information was reported on 10/03/2024. The victim wanted to report a possible identity theft. The victim received an IRS package in the mail along with a letter inside from an unknown person.
A victim of Information was reported on 10/03/2024. A disturbance involving an adult male stating another adult male pulled a firearm on him. Upon deputies’ investigation, it was determined a road rage incident had occurred prior, and the adult male who pulled out the firearm was only defending himself after being followed to the Wawa and aggressively approached by the other adult male, placing him in fear.
Battery
A victim of Battery was reported on 10/03/2024. A battery involving two adult females. Both adult females stated they were chest-bumped by the other.
Theft
A victim of Auto Theft on Riverside Drive was reported on 10/04/2024. An unknown suspect(s) took the victim’s golf cart from the incident location. Because it had broken down the previous night, the victim had left the vehicle unattended without its keys.
Criminal Mischief
The City Of Parkland was the victim of Criminal Mischief at 10555 Trails End, reported on 10/04/2024. An unknown subject(s) left “burnout” marks on the basketball court. The total estimated loss was $1000.00.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Residence was reported on 10/06/2024. The total estimated loss was $4,000. The victim’s home is for sale and unoccupied. An unknown suspect or suspects forced entry to a rear sliding door. A bicycle and Gucci purse were stolen from the garage.
Arrests
Hallman, Arlan Jay, was arrested on a charge of Warrant-Stalking on 10/04/2024.
